The original Beaux Arts library building had been outgrown many years before the Town and the Library Trustees moved forward with the decision to design and build an expansion and limited renovation to the building. Immediate and future programmatic requests included: a childrens' section, a computer learning section, a community conference room with a small kitchen, book stacks and storage. Four levels of the building are now ADA compliant with a four stop elevator. In spite of very restricted funding, this project is successful due to the collaborative efforts of many Town officials, the Library Trustees, private citizens and a complementary working relationship with the General Contractor.
