Kieve
Affective Education Inc. has operated a Boys Summer Camp for 80 years
and provides year-round educational programs as well. Kieve requested a
multi-use building to blend into the existing landscape and the
vernacular architecture of the main campus. The upper level features a
2 bedroom staff quarters with a cathedral ceiling in the main living
area and views of the lake. The living area and master bedroom are open
to a screened porch deck. A one-bedroom unit with a loft space is also
located on the upper level. The lower level incorporates four, 2-bed
suites with a central common room as an annex to the Kennedy Learning
Center. Each suite features corner windows and opens onto a grade-level
deck with views of the lake. This camp-style building resonates with
its heritage by incorporating a large gable -roofed entry porch
complete with cedar log posts. The Cushman Design Group, Inc. continues
to be involved with Kieve in developing a multi-year Campus Renewal,
Master Plan to address the entire lake side campus to support the
programs of Kieve.
