The site was perfect, long views south encompassing the unspoiled Worcester Range to the east and the middle section of the Green Mountain Range to the west. The problem was the house. Designed and constructed in the 1970's, the house, while retaining its distinctive massing and exterior composition, had undergone disappointing interior aging and a mismatch of interior design styles.

After searching for alternate homes requiring perhaps less work, the owners took the bold and courageous steps to rectify systemic building system nuisances and completely updated the interior of the house. They updated the thermal insulation system, HVAC system and replaced all the exterior windows and doors and much of the weathered siding.

While the interior is clean and refreshing, it gains its warmth from the attributes of the oiled Merabu floors, the Pearwood kitchen cabinets and the pickled pine vaulted ceilings. Collectors of two dimensional and three dimensional art and ceramics, the owners worked with us to design museum-like gallery low voltage lighting to showcase their collection. Custom high pressure laminate bathroom vanities, a glass tiled doorless master bath shower finished with chrome bath accessories, plumbing fixtures and light fixtures, make the new master bath a luxurious room that absorbs the late afternoon and dusk light.
